Scorpio rules what stays hidden until it is ready: shared money, private loyalties, the real terms of a deal. This new moon puts those matters at the start of a cycle. The chart does not ask you to keep a secret for its own sake. It asks you to hold a beginning close until it proves it can survive daylight.

Mercury retrograde colours the timing of words, not the beginning itself. At 6.87° Scorpio, Mercury sits about 10° behind the new moon — the same sign, same story, but outside any tight orb. The Sun–Moon conjunction is exact and carries the lunation. Retrograde Mercury only adds this: whatever you decide now, the explanation will come in a second draft. Astrologers associate retrograde Mercury with review and revision rather than clean forward motion.

So the chart supports private financial work: the transfer, the term sheet, the debt map you draw for yourself first. It supports selective disclosure: tell one person the whole thing, not twelve people a polished version. And it supports refusing to explain. You can sign the boundary without a press release.

What about control? Scorpio's control is knowing who holds the key. Decide now who needs access to this beginning — and do not hand a family member the login to a shared account you have not audited.

Start with the only exact contact: the Sun and Moon sit at the identical degree, a zero-orb conjunction. That single meeting defines the new moon. Everything else is support or scenery.

Mercury is the closest supporting player, 10.02° behind the pair in the same sign. Same story, same terrain, but no tight orb. Mercury retrograde adds timing pressure — drafts, revisions, words that arrive late — without driving the lunation.

The rest sits wider. Mars in Leo squares the Sun and Moon at a 5.79° orb, close enough to add friction and urgency to a private commitment but not to dominate it. Jupiter's square stretches to 8.36°. Venus in Libra sits 23.57° from the pair, far past any conjunction worth naming, and Saturn in Aries is 141.92° away — a 21.92° orb from trine, too wide to count.

So the chart gives one decisive signal: an exact Sun–Moon meeting coloured by retrograde Mercury, with Mars adding heat. Keep the beginning quiet and expect the explanation to lag.

A different pairing stays genuinely tight, though it is not a Sun or Moon contact. Venus in Libra sextiles Mars by only 0.64°, and Venus sextiles Jupiter by 1.93°. Those numbers make the chart a quiet place for value, desire and self-worth to sit alongside each other without a public performance.

Scorpio keeps the receipts. So the beginnings this new moon favors are the ones you would make anyway with nobody watching: a standing transfer into savings you do not mention at dinner, a loan you pay down quietly, a commitment to yourself about what you will no longer finance.

With Venus retrograde in Libra and Saturn in Aries, the money question is not new income. It is the account you keep avoiding and the hidden cost of an old agreement. The Moon in Scorpio guide covers why this sign guards its terms until they are safe — the emotional backstory to the balance you keep private.

The boundary is the simplest private move available. One sentence, said once, no explanation attached: no, you will not cover it again; no, that time is not available. Scorpio does not need an audience to make a no hold.

The message is the one place to slow down. Rewrite it, sit on it, and send after November 13. Then the explanation arrives after the decision, not before it — the order this chart rewards.

Put the beginning in writing before November 9 ends: one line naming the private commitment, one line naming the person who knows, and one line naming what you will not explain. That third line is the Scorpio discipline — a beginning with a locked door stays yours until it is strong enough to open.

Choose your one confidant deliberately. Not the friend who repeats everything, and not the person whose opinion would rewrite your decision. Scorpio's selective disclosure means one witness, not a committee.

Then watch for the first-quarter Moon later in November, roughly a week after the new moon. That phase brings the square — the private commitment meets contact: a payment due, a conversation that circles back, a question you answer without rehearsing. It is a test, not a verdict.

The turn toward the following full moon, about two weeks out, makes the shape visible to others: the account balance that changed, the boundary that held, the message finally sent. Speak from the decision, not ahead of it.

To find where this new moon lands in your own chart, enter your birth date, time and place in the transit chart calculator alongside the November 9 event. Your personal monthly forecast then carries that timing across the weeks that follow. A birth chart calculator builds the base map if you have never set one up.

A brief method note: the event date and planetary positions here come from a calculation of the sky at 07:02 UTC on November 9, 2026, using the tropical zodiac and a geocentric view. The meanings attached to them are astrological interpretation, not measured outcomes. Houses and angles depend on birth time and place, so a date alone cannot place this new moon in your chart.
